Busy Busy Busy – that’s what’s happening right now! At least it looks like I’m busy, I’m half way between distraction and procrastination, but those lovely diversions have lead to progress on my own fashion label – UNslave.ME which is about to find its home at the very same address as it’s name. That means the label will be getting more of a focus. The brilliant thing about this new label is that it is eco-conscious, ethical clothing, which is going to make you feel good.
The clothes are made from all natural fibres and will come in a variety of different styles. I am going to be starting with designer tees, with naturally inked designs on hemp / cotton blend shirts that come in a variety of colours! It is good to be moving forward and to be bringing such wonderful feel good products, that might just make a statement about the way we live our lives. Against oppression, for all Earthlings – in comfort, in style!
So if you get the chance, head on over to…..

Featuring
- Organic Clothing!
- Hybrid Fashions – Where new and recycled collide!
- A range of style tips and opinions
- Growing range of ethical accessories, bags, belts etc!
- All the love in the world!

I’m trying to make this site as much fun as possible – in the process I’ve added windows to various vegan fashion labels, designers and stores, with links to their latest tweets, so you can preview what these vegan fashion moguls are putting out there. You don’t have to visit their site, but browse the latest vegan fashions, shoes, shows and photos all in one place – But we’re always improving.
And now! The Cruelty Free Window Shopper Scrapbook is here! http://veganwindowshopper.me/scrapbook/ Right there on the top menu, easy to find and locate. What is it? It’s the latest vegan fashion news, and snippets that I feel like including, for whatever the mental reasoning behind it, it will be either, vegan fashion, vegan people, vegan movements or condemnation of the bad guys. Either way it’s worth checking out. It’s importing content from a Tumblr and believe it or not you can follow it here http://veganfashionwindows.tumblr.com The best part is a little button called submit, which will allow you to post your own links / images and content to the scrapbook… Sound good ? You’ll need a tumblr account – but I am going to include a link here so you can contribute as you will, AND I’ve going to move the Scrapbook to the frontpage.

Apparently, I have needed a cigarette, but what if that burst of nicotine was just what the doctor ordered? Acetyl Choline isn’t specifically a cigarette, but it is a neurotransmitter that slows down the synapse pathways in the brain – slightly – but the effect is more concentration and well, less paranoia. Perhaps I could consider that I am indulging my inner guru or just severely beaten down by my sleep dysphoria (insomnia + narcolepsy). I don’t want to say that it’s chronic, because it’s such an insultingly simple problem to solve. Is the solution acetyl choline? Umm…
I need to address this issue one way or another, and abstracting with chemical solutions, gets my spirit down. In other words if I had the choice, I’d rather not take anything unnatural – but like so many people in this world, I tend to lack the conviction to take on this illness successfully. Because I’m so tired and worn out – I just want to a break from my illness dictating to me how I live my life. Right now I have a choice – walk 15km to escape myself or to do some really positive sitting – Umm…both are rather silly.
I’m a bit of a silly person really – but at least I’m someone I like being – I’m still proud of what I have done with my life, even if it doesn’t show up using modern social scientific methods. Longing to detox and stumbling at every step – I tell myself I lack discipline, but I really lack support. At least there is tea – maybe its time for some of that. I will beat this, just watch! Is going raw vegan a detox? Let’s just say it is… 10 days is a good start.

I just read that when you are stressed, your metabolism basically shuts down. In particular enzyme production is reduced by a factor of 2000. Isn’t that ridiculous? Production of stress hormones like cortisol and insulin can’t be helping either – these are however the symptoms of stress and not the cause. The cause is mismanagement, or taking on too much – I think that most people that have a weight problem also have a stress problem.
So how do we deal with stress? I don’t have all the facts on this, but my suggestion is to make sure that you are doing everything you can, to take those nasty stressful elements out of your life. As a vegan, my tests are pretty good, everything checks out, but there is still a problem – stress derived from boredom and sleep problems. I carry stress with me throughout the day when I’m tired, and I’d like to finally bring this horrible chapter to a close.
In order to reduce stress (rather than lose weight) I have taken the following steps.
1. No TV
2. Greens supplement (inc. spiralina)
3. No binge eating – No meal over 100g and only 3 mains and 2 snacks a day. I think this reduces stress because it takes the guilt out of binge eating.
4. Daily exercise – at least 30 minutes each day – stress free – walking in a park, etc. I find this is a great way to unwind.
5. Reduce the amount of computer usage – Too much of a good thing is still too much.
6. Emergency strategies for the worst of those moments – when I start to panic.
This strategy is to eliminate guilt and the vexations from my existence – this could including a culling of negative social habits and circles. I don’t want to put myself in stressful situations for no reason and the doctor will always tell you that prevention is better than cure. Besides – I want to look great this season.

So after being frustrated by a terrible virus, I finally got rid of it – That was so important to developing this project, because it meant that noone could actually access the site. That was almost two months ago – I hardly noticed the time, I guess that’s fine, but it feels a little twilight zone. I guess I’ve been busy, and that’s my point – I’m proud to announce… the webpage for my recycled fashion line unSlave.ME – when I say line, I mean it’s ON-line, and we’re making plans, scheming, creating…
It’s basically, weird weather in Perth right now, it’s so hot, so Autumn is taking on a new feel. I wonder if I can adapt… unSlave.ME is about cruelty free fashion, creativity, design and fun with clothing, it may or may not turn into something wearable, but for arguments sake, let’s just pretend we’re famous, it’s probably better than the real thing anyhow..
So check it out http://veganwindowshopper.me/unslave or click the link in the sidebar! You can also link back from the other site so go ahead and explore.
In other news, if you know any other vegan websites, that could use a window in our little online galleria, then please let me know in the comments -
Until the nightmares end – Fashionista Lilithbytes.

Relief. Over the past month, the site has been redirecting people from the home page to a marketing site. This problem is finally resolved. I’ve been a little busy to fix it sooner, but I found the culprit and it has been removed. Not a lot of development in terms of the fashion line, but window shopper is still brilliant. I’m thinking of including a wordpress style link preview plugin so that people can get a preview of the twitter links posted with the stores. Sound good? It should do, because it will be like having items in the digital storefront to check out from retailers.
This should be simple enough, and let’s face it, that’s why I did this, because I wanted to window shop with ease and check out all the hot vegan fashions without getting bumped by the need to search far and wide. Bring them here to one spot, stay in the galleria or enter the store up to you! I think I’m going to enjoy this. Might even potentially put a side wide chat for a chat / browse / shop kind of feel!

Work has begun on a project for my community, to make the choice so much easier, and not just the choice to go 100% vegan, but the choice to reduce unnecessary cruelty in our consumer lives. The V-pages is a social network for vegans and friends of cruelty free living in my city of Perth. Let’s face, I’m jealous of the fabulous stories coming in from other cities in the world, especially in regard to fashion, so in the true spirit of not taking it lying down, I’m promoting a community for shared resources, empowerment and expansion, to make our city, a great place to live cruelty free.
It’s a social network, so you’ll get lots of features, it’s a directory for businesses and activist groups, it’s a forum for discussion, and it’s a place to connect the dots, to making your economic purchases as safe and empowering as possible. Lot’s of information and connections, local events, live chat are just a few features, with more on the way. So now it will be easier to find what you’re looking for. This project aims to improve visibility of vegan, fair trade and cruelty free options, to empower our purchases and vote with our dollars for change.
The hope is that the improvement in communication will either reveal some fashion hot spots in my city, or promote and encourage such businesses to open in our city. Shoes especially, we need shoes.

Because I love vegan fashion, but start ups like this are no mean feat, I’m treating it more like a hobby, getting friends involved, working on what we hope to achieve with this site. I think it is already a lot of fun, browsing through the internets so you can check out your favourite stores with included tweets from most of the stores! I need to update that feature for the shoe and fashion event tabs… Still… the direction this is taking, is to make my own hobby label and fashion shows, which will be for fun as much as anything but will feature here.
The label is so far to be called ‘unslave me’, and eventually it will get its own URL for now though it’s just an idea. Upgraded recycled fashions. In the mean time, there are sites, shops and products I can review, but in the mean time, there is still a bit of planning as to the overall direction of the project. Seeing as I can’t get to the UK, or to the USA, there might be a chance for guest bloggers to review these stores! I’m interested, as many others are about these stores. I guess my own personal mission is to see some of these great fashions be made available here in my city and if they already are – to find them.

Another loop around the sun, and I’m considering how to proceed.. I really want to make something fun out of this. Fashion is a passion and well, with rhymes like that, how can I resist? Scouting, photographs, reviews etc, is worth doing anyhow, considering the work that I’m doing on the V-pages anyhow (vegan directory for Perthians). Collaborators, advisors, upcomers are welcome, if you want me to have a sneak peak and a blog about your range, then I will.
I mean cruelty free, is not only no animal products, it should be fair trade as well, after all you don’t want to end up being cruel to humans. Fair trade can sometimes be overlooked, and it is difficult to tell what is and isn’t fair trade. Recycled fashion is almost a certain way of ensuring no-one is harmed (further) by your actions – you won’t be increasing demand for non-vegan products, but still I avoid any animal products.
Hybrid fashion, giving the old fashions a modern layer is something that can be undertaken in the new year – designing is easier than making the clothes, but then I have other priorities, so unless other people work with me, not much is going to happen in the way of that idea.

Since I can’t sleep, I might as well live a dream. I’m going to create a fashion boutique using the cruelty free pathos. Since we have very little money to start with, we’ll start with recycled fashions, from op shops and the like. We’ll conceptualize modern designs through modification and not construction to combine the old and the new in some kind of fashionable creation. This means we can create a range that is both original and not original… And it can happen right here – In Perth!
I can connect up to the other fashion resources as a part of this quest, but we will have come up with a new type of clothing – the hybrid, and making these lines will give some people a great opportunity to make a stitch or two. I think I’ll combine selling and busking, doing street fashion shows out the back of a car, somewhere interesting… Mobile, by demand – Hybrid Fashions!
